2nd, Saturday: Twelfth Day of Ridvan - Baha'i remembrance of God's message.

7th, Thursday: National Day of Prayer - USA - Interfaith observance. 2009 is the 58th annual observance. Check out the official website.

9th, Saturday: Buddha Day - Visakha Puja - Buddhist observance of the birth, enlightenment and death of Buddha. By the way, check out this great painting which depicts Asian religious unity, "Three laughing men by the Tiger stream."

12th, Tuesday: Lag B'Omer - Jewish observance of the link between Pesach and Shavout.

21st, Thursday: Ascension of Jesus - Christian - universal presence of Jesus.

31st, Sunday: Pentecost (Whitsunday) - Christians recall the power of the Holy Spirit and remember the Ten Commandments. Many Christians get baptized on this day.

Earth Hour 2009 (and 50th True Parents Day)

Hey, I just wanted to remind all my MANY readers that tomorrow from 8:30PM to 9:30PM is Earth Hour. What does that mean? I means to shut off all your lights and electric appliances for one hour. The purpose is to raise awareness of how much energy we use and how it effects our environment.

Ideally we should all use a lot less electricity than we do, and turning off all our electricity using devises can remind ourselves and our neighbors(by seeing our lights off) to try to use less.

Weather you believe in "Global Warming" or not, less energy usage means less pollution and waste. I hope you will join me in flipping the switch tomorrow night. For those of you who are a fan of the Christian/Jewish Bible, you can do this remembering Genesis 1:28.
